
The Guidance and Counselling Office familiarizes the new breed of Letranites with their services through an orientation entitled “Survival Skills 101: Becoming the toughest Letranite.”
The Colegio gave recognition to the esteemed alumni for being successful in their chosen field of endeavors, last August 30 at the Blessed Antonio Varona Gymnasium.
With the intention to inform the Colegio and its stakeholders an in-depth knowledge on the endeavors of the institution, Vice President of Academic Affairs Assoc. Prof. Cristina Castro-Cabral presented the research entitled, ‘A Grounded Theory Model for the One Letran System: Challenges and Learnings’, during this year’s Arriba Address at the Colegio Chapel last July 16, 2018.
As the new academic year opened, The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) has taken over the Letran Media Resources and Services (LMRS) previously known as Media Center. It now operates directly under the Institute of Communication (ICOMM).
Aside from the endless drilling and hammering of walls and ceilings of the different facilities inside the Colegio, Letranites were also welcomed by power outages from four buildings, as the classes resume last July 16.
A Letran graduate placed first at the August nutritionist-dietitian board examination. Also, Letran achieved a perfect passing rate.
Acting Chief Justice Antonio T. Carpio discussed the economic, legal, and political implication of the dispute involving the Philippines’ territorial waters that are being claimed by the Chinese government to the Letranites, last August 20.
The Colegio’s new vice president for Religious Affairs Rev. Fr. John Stephen Besa, O.P. opens his homily, during the celebration of the Feast of St. Dominic de Guzman, with the statement: “At dahil tayong mga Letranista advanced mag- isip, pinagdiriwang na natin ang piyesta ni Santo Domingo kahit bukas pa ito.”
After seven months of refurbishing, The Colegio de San Juan de Letran façade is now free from the obstructions of scaffolding and plywood, which impends students from entering and exiting from the semester-old turnstile.
Another development in Colegio de San Juan de Letran for the academic year 2018-2019 is the appointment of Asst. Prof. Henry Pahilanga, last June 1, as the director of Letran Information, Systems, Technology, and Networking (LISTeN), or formerly known as Information Techonology and Media Services (ITMS).
