Post office in Manila offers same-day release of postal IDs

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has launched same-day release of postal identification cards at its site in SM City Manila, aiming to speed up access to a widely accepted government ID, on Monday, Apr. 20, 2026.

To qualify, applicants must submit their requirements within 11:00 a.m., those who applied beyond cut-off time will have their IDs released scheduled on the following day.

PHLPost said IDs are released at 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Applicants are required to personally appear and submit a completed application form, along with valid proof of identity and proof of address.

Accepted identification documents include a birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), national ID, Unified Multi-Purpose ID, driver’s license, passport, or any government-issued ID bearing a photo and signature.

A proof of address may be a utility bill, lease contract, or similar documents. Processing fees are set at P550 for regular applications and P650 for rush processing.

PHLPost said the initiative is part of efforts to improve public service efficiency and provide faster access to identification cards, which are commonly used in financial transactions and other official purposes.
