The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the northeast monsoon, or amihan, and the easterlies will bring cloudy skies and rains in parts of the Philippines on Saturday, Mar. 7.

In its weather forecast, PAGASA said the amihan will affect extreme Northern Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.

The state weather bureau noted that these conditions may cause possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rainfall.

The easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, will meanwhile affect the rest of the country.

PAGASA said these may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

The weather bureau advised the public to remain alert for possible flash floods or landslides, especially in areas that may experience moderate to heavy rains due to thunderstorms.

Despite the rains, most areas in the country are still expected to experience generally fair weather throughout the day, with isolated rain showers likely in the afternoon or evening.

Metro Manila is expected to experience hot and partly cloudy weather on Saturday, while cloudy skies with isolated to scattered light to moderate rains are forecast on Sunday, Mar. 8.

PAGASA said it will continue to monitor weather conditions and urged the public to follow updates and advisories for possible changes in the forecast.
