Public trust and performance ratings of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte declined in the third-quarter of 2025 according to the latest report of OCTA Research’s survey; raising questions on how the administration will respond to Filipinos’ concerns over economic struggles.

Results from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4 showed Marcos Jr.'s trust rating at 57%, down seven points from 64% in July. His performance rating also dropped to 60% from 65% during the same period.

Meanwhile, Duterte experienced an even bigger decline in both trust and performance score. With her trust rating falling to 54% from 64%, and her performance rating decreasing to 55% from 67%, according to OCTA.

Despite the decline, both leaders still have majority support, the most notable declines occurring in Metro Manila and Mindanao.

“Even with the observed declines, President Marcos Jr. continues to enjoy majority trust and approval among Filipinos, maintaining both ratings above the 50% mark. In contrast, Vice President Duterte’s trust rating remains within majority levels, but her performance rating slipped slightly below the majority, now at 49%,” OCTA noted.

The OCTA report also emphasized that trust ratings may continue to fluctuate in the coming months as political and economic developments unfold. The survey had 1,200 respondents and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3%.
