The National Service Training Program (NSTP) Area of Letran-Manila has commenced the implementation phase of its student-driven, service-learning projects for NSTP 2, marking a significant step in the program's transition to a more sustainable community-engaged approach.

The formulated and approved projects, designed to be both sustainable and responsive, reflect NSTP Area’s continued commitment to enhancing student learning through practical, community-based experiences.

The shift integrates realistic immersion to foster a deeper understanding of social issues and promote civic responsibility.

Prior to implementation, students underwent a Community Needs Assessment (CNA) process together with the Community Extension Department of Letran-Manila, involving direct engagement with their chosen communities, allowing them to identify pressing needs and tailor the objectives of their projects accordingly.

The implementation phase, scheduled throughout April, will see students deploying their projects within the Colegio and extending their reach to external communities.

Approved communities and partnerships for immersion include Upskills+ in Tondo, Manila, One Decena, Barangay NBBS in Navotas City, and various communities within Intramuros.

The projects are expected to address diverse social issues such as youth development, labor, and environment, fostering collaboration between Letranites and their chosen communities.

This initiative underscores the NSTP Area's dedication to empowering students and fulfilling the mandates of the prevailing NSTP Law where it relies upon its objectives.
