After successfully defending their title at the MILO National Marathon Cheerleading Competition last March 2, 2025 at SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City, the Letran Cheering Squad are now aiming for the top of the podium in the NCAA cheerdance competition.
With dynamic skills in cheerdancing, the LCS was able to secure the chip once more, boasting a victorious back-to-back for the squad. Their entry included signature tumbles and flips that they have worked on some months after NCAA season 99.
In an interview, coach Lester Go revealed that they were hungry for another MILO trophy as it holds deep significance for the team.
“Gusto talaga namin mag back-to-back and sobrang thankful kami kasi na-retain namin yung crown — one of the leagues iyon ng Philippine Cheer Union which our late coach Arnold Villanueva ang isa sa nag tayo,” he said.
He also made it clear that their vision for the ongoing centennial season is to top the scoreboards. Using their recent tournament victory experience will add fuel to their future competitions like the National Cheerleading Competition (NCC).
“Actually, malaking help sa team, mas tataas ‘yong confidence nila lalo pag nananalo sila sa competitions. So pag dating sa NCAA, mas may pride sila, mas matapang sila kasi na-experience na nila how to win,” the motivated coach added.
Come the most awaited cheerdance tournament day, coach Lester is confident in elevating their skills and techniques — leveling up to a fast-paced routine as compared to the previous year which was much slower, complimenting a tribute performance to their late coach.
