The Letran Student Council (LSC) officially opened the Knight’s Study Hub in a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on the 2nd Floor of the Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu Building from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, on Oct, 18.
The event, spearheaded by the LSC, marked the completion of their student-led project, “Revitalizing Campus Spaces: A Campus and Resource Access Improvement,” aimed at enhancing the student learning environment.
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was attended by former LSC officers, Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs), Cultural Performing Arts Group (CPAG), the Director of the Auxiliary Services Department (ASD), staff from the Department of Student Affairs (DSA), and the Vice President of Administrative Affairs (VPAA). These distinguished attendees came together to witness the realization of a long-anticipated project, delayed from its original schedule last academic year but finally brought to fruition through collective effort.
Ms. Alecks Gian Gallardo, Vice President of the Letran Student Council and Co-Project Head began the program by thanking the people who made the project possible. Followed by presenting the awards of appreciation to Rev. Fr. Raymund Fernando P. Jose as a representative on behalf of the "Art Attack" creators, the team responsible for the bright mural that adorns the study hub, creating an artistic and inspirational environment.
Fr. Jose also led the blessing of the space, offering prayers and sprinkling holy water.
Engineer Amorsolo Canlas, Director of the ASD, received a certificate of appreciation for his crucial role in the development of the study hub.
Ms. Jerina V. Andres, Former Vice President of LSC and the project head, received special recognition for her leadership in completing the project.
The former LSC batch of 2023-2024, who initially launched the initiative, was also honored for laying the groundwork for this much-needed facility.
In her speech, Ms. Andres expressed gratitude to all those who made the project possible, highlighting the collective effort of the Letran community in addressing the lack of student spaces on campus. She emphasized that the Knight's Study Hub was developed with students' needs in mind, providing a space for study, collaboration, and personal development.
The ceremony concluded with a photo opportunity, capturing the significance of the event and the unity of the Letran community in supporting the academic success of its students.
The Knight’s Study Hub is now officially open, ready to offer a dedicated and revitalized space for all Letranites.
