The Letran Cheering Squad unveiled a heartfelt performance in the Cheerleading Competition of the NCAA Season 99 wrap-up held in the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City earlier today.

Fighting with more than just a chip on their shoulders, LCS recreated the spark that they ignited from the previous season — keeping the bronze medal within the barriers of Intramuros.

With the loud and roaring Letran audience anchoring from the stands, a synchronized “Arriba, Letran” cheerpart kicked off the performance to supercharge the squad members’ electrifying poses, tumbles, and pyramids, coupled with their graceful dance moves.

Nearing the end of the exquisite routine is a stance pointing to the skies above — a tribute of the group to their late mentor, the “Father of Philippine Cheerleading”, Coach Arnold Villanueva.

Despite an accidental stumble in their last pyramid stunt, the Letran squad still garnered a total score of 206 points, sitting behind powerhouses Arellano University that received 253.5 and University of Perpetual Help System Dalta with 231.5 enroute to claiming the first and second place finishes, respectively.

The overflowing emotion that was poured in this lone performance was a testament of the growth and development of the cheering program under the ever-resilient coaching staff and administrators.

Come the Centennial Season of the NCAA, a brand new hurdle awaits as they launch into a plateau of greatness bearing the legacy bestowed upon them.
