The Letran Senior Squires prevailed and proved themselves as victors throughout the preseason leagues as they secured two championship titles under their name following their successful NCAA Season 98 campaign.

Another title secured as they conquered the United Basketball League Under-19 school-based competition held at Systems Plus College in Caloocan City.

In a hard-fought final match against the University of Perpetual Help System Junior Altas, the Muralla-based squad coerced a comeback as the game concluded with a narrow 65-60 win.

An outstanding performance was shown by the finals MVP, Lex Gazzingan, who contributed 18 points and three rebounds, which played a pivotal role in guiding the team to success.

The Letran Squires did not just let themselves stop to compete at that moment, as another title was achieved by team B, who triumphed in the Metro Youth Super League (MYSL) Season 4 Under-17 division last November 26 against Coronado’s School of Quezon City, 63-40.

Remarkable performances were displayed during the finals, in which Cintone Pico, the Squires’ Finals MVP, showcased exceptional gameplay with five points, nine rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

As the defending champions in NCAA Juniors basketball, the Squires gear themselves up and are inclined to defend their title even without the presence of NCAA Season 98 Finals MVP Andy Gemao, as he has decided to part ways and grab better opportunities for his chosen profession in another country.

Despite such news, familiar names like George Diamante, Daniel Padilla, Jonathan Manalili, and Jovel Baliling did not let themselves be astounded by such changes, for they are already stepping up to fill their lofty billings under the Coach Allen Ricardo-led squad.
