The College of Education captured yet another success after attaining a 78.95% passing rate in the September 2018 Licensure Exams for Teachers (LET) for the Secondary Level, a percentage higher than this year’s national passing rate of 48.03%.
Previously accumulating a 100% passing rate for first-time takers during the March 2018 examination with 10 examinees, the Colegio has now projected a total of 15 first-time examinees successfully passing the said licensure examinations, garnering 88.24%.
In an interview with the publication, Margaret Bueno, one of the Colegio’s scholars, shared how Letran differs from any other educational institution.
“We're guided by our dean and professors throughout the review. Aside from that, our curriculum offers variety of subjects that really helped us pass the board,” said Bueno.
On the same vein, Abbey Jeremy Garcia also thinks that the preparation for the board was a difficult journey.
“When there were only three weeks left before the board examination. I had to burn the midnight oil and to wake up at 3:00 in the morning just to review.” shared Garcia.
Through the institution’s sustained performance in the reputable board examinations, Bueno hopes for an increase in those enrolling for their program.
“I pray for our continuous 100% passing rate in the following years and if lucky, maybe we'll have some topnotchers too,” Bueno added.
Nevertheless, prayers had proven more than essential in every board examinees, especially from the Colegio as it was always included in their formula to achieve success.
When asked about their goals after this success, both Bueno and Garcia plans to pursue their studies to the next level.
“Learning is a continuous process, and my profession demands a lot of things, therefore, I need to be better to successfully mold the future leaders and heroes of our society,” Garcia stated.
On another note, the 79 examinees who occupied the official top 10 list in said examinations were evidently composed of the majority hailing from universities and colleges outside Metro Manila.
