After losing their season opener to the same team, the Letran Knights finally claimed their revenge against the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Altas, 82-80, to book their sixth straight victory in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 94, Friday, at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

With the Knights up by two, 79-77, Altas point guard Edgar Charcos drained a three-pointer to hand Perpetual the lead, 80-79, with 52.8 seconds remaining.

However, Letran’s dynamic duo would not go down without a fight. With 27.2 remaining in the clock, JP Calvo swiped the ball from Kyt Jimenez that led to a Bong Quinto lay-up on the other end, 81-80.

Prince Eze missed a basket with 9.5 seconds to go that would have given Perpetual the lead, Quinto then drained 1-of-2 from the free throw line to seal the game for Letran.

“Sabi ko naman sa inyo, very unpredictable yung team namin. Yung leaders namin ‘yun nag-perform ngayon. Yung leadership nadadala talaga nila,” said third-year Knights head coach Jeff Napa.

Quinto poured 22 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Calvo chipped in 17 points, five rebounds, and seven assists while Larry Muyang added 11 markers and eight boards in Letran’s victory.
