The Supreme Court (SC) officially commences the 2023 Bar Examinations on Tuesday, September 14. The examination will continue on September 20 and is set to culminate in September 24.

The examination is under the chairmanship of SC Associate Justice Ramon Paul L. Hernando.

In numbers, SC recorded 10,816 Bar examinees with 5,832 first takers and 4,984 second time takers. 2,571 Bar personnel were deployed to the National Headquarters in San Beda College in Alabang and fourteen Local Testing Centers (LTCs) nationwide to welcome the Bar examinees and ensure the success of the examinations.

Examinations are monitored by Court officials, Judges, numerous personnel from the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, the Sandiganbayan, the Court of Tax Appeals, First and Second Level of Courts, and lawyers in the government and private practice.

Bar Exam Proper

Through its Supreme Court Bar Microsite, SC has officially released the questions for the first day of the Bar Examinations which are about Political and Public International Law and Commercial and Taxation Laws.

On its second day, the Bar examinees will face Civil Law examination in the morning (AM) and Labor and Social Legislation examination in the afternoon (PM).

On its third and final day, Criminal Law and Remedial Law (AM), Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical examinations (PM) are set to challenge the examinees.

Letran’s Pride

In the past years, The Colegio has celebrated its faculty members who successfully braved the Bar Examinations.

In 2021, Attorney Sherman Louis Gabito, the former Area Chairperson of the Political and Legal Studies Area (PALS) passed the Bar Examination. He is succeeded by former faculty member of PALS, Attorney Fidel Due Cortes, who crossed the Bar in 2022.

The Supreme Court hopes to release the results of the 2023 Bar Examinations by early December.
