The Letran Lady Knights are looking to galvanize their squad as they will be spearheaded by Letran alumnus Oliver Almadro in the upcoming NCAA Season 99, replacing Coach Mike Inoferio.

Almadro, who is also the current mentor of Petro Gazz Angels in the Premiere Volleyball League, will be beneficial for the Lady Knights who fell short of a semifinals slot in Season 98 of the NCAA where they departed with a 5-4 slate.

It has been 11 years since the last semi finals appearance of the women’s volleyball team and 24 years have also passed since their last championship title.

The alumnus studied in the Intramuros-based institution from 1995 to 1998 in which after those years, he ventured into coaching.

From handling the Ateneo Men’s Volleyball team for 10 years and leading them to a historic three-peat during UAAP Seasons 77 and 78, the decorated coach was tapped to orchestrate the women’s counterpart where he helped in seizing the UAAP Season 81 championship with the presence of Bea de Leon and Maddie Madayag.

He parted ways with Ateneo last July, as he was superseded by Brazilian coach Sergio Veloso as the head coach of the Blue Eagles.
