Letran Junior Philippines Institute of Accountants (LJPIA) made a remarkable impression as its members received various awards during the 12th Year End Awards of the National Capital Region Council Accounting Summit for JPIA.

Annually, the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (NFJPIA-NCR) recognizes exceptional undertaking done by its deserving JPIANs, Local Chapters, Local Chapter Presidents, Regional Council, and Regional Council Presidents to highlight and inspire more accountants to flourish in their own endeavors.

In the last awarding ceremony, NFJPIA acknowledged “Log In – 1st Academic Conference” as the Most Coordinated Activity in Academics, “Mr. & Ms. Ambassador of Goodwill NCR 2016” as the Most Coordinated Activity in Non-Academics, “Parallax: 1st General Meeting ft. Bidding of Events” as the Best Hosted General Meeting and finally, LJPIA’s very own “Run Hueknighted 2016: A Color Fun Run for a Cause” which was hailed as Best Internal Event in Non-Academics; LJPIA was also given the award for Most Improved Local Chapter and Most Artistic Local Chapter.

LJPIA was on top of the heap throughout AY’ 2016-2017. Last May, the organization was recognized by KABOOM Enterprises (one of LJPIA’s partner) as Boomyahinan Partner Organization of the Year. Additionally, the St. Dominic de Guzman award or the Best Student Organization Award was given to LJPIA during Letran’s Recognition Day this year.

“I think I just followed my heart in doing such tasks. I taught inspirational leadership to my members, meaning; for them to lead, I must set the standards, follow those, be an example, and motivate them thru inspiration,” LJPIA leader Marc Brian Nabong, an incoming fifth year Accountancy student said after receiving the award for the Outstanding Local Chapter President.

Nabong also received the Don Juan Geronimo Guerrero & Fray Diego de Sta. Maria OP Award and Pres. Manuel Luis Quezon Award for Leadership during this Letran’s recognition day this year.

“Sometimes, there's a feeling in my mind of giving up because of multiple problems that were coming in. But, we, leaders must stop for a while and ponder on things, clear our minds, and replenish our energy to regain confidence in solving issues for tomorrow,” he said.

Asked about the secret of the organization’s massive accolade, Nabong said that the key to their success is the strong foundation of each and every team players' working relationship towards one another. “Work and mold on the skills of their member and everything will follow. But always remember this, there's no perfect organization. There's a proper process of building a harmonious relationship with a team,” he shared.

Nabong’s leadership is undeniably remarkable, however, he has no intention to run as the organization’s president again. “We need to create a new breed of leaders who will serve and lead other people and create an impact on them that's why I did not run for the presidency again,” Nabong added.

Nabong also gave tips to the future Accountancy students who placed themselves in the roster of officers for this academic year. “There are a lot of opportunities waiting to all of us. It's up to us whether we are going to grab them or not. I believe on this idea: when doors are open for you, enter; when the sky is the limit, fly; & when it is for you, it's for you,” ended Nabong.
The upcoming leaders of LJPIA will be headed by its new president Joanne Bueñaflor.
