After the successful launching of its own website last September 2017, The LANCE editorial board members have once again dreamt of acquiring things beyond both of their imagination and capabilities. A mobile application, aimed at giving timely updates to all Letranites who only care a little about the small community that they live in. But now, it has been a dream come true.

Thanks to the hard work of Information and Technology students who passed their thesis subject, the LANCE will be having its own mobile application called the LANCE Mobile.

Mark Babaylan, the leader of the group who worked with LANCE mobile, shared his experiences on working with the mobile application. "Sobrang hirap lalo na noong nasa Beta version palang siya. Ang daming tests and runs pa ang ginawa namin noon to make it fully functional. I cannot believe na ayos na siya ngayon," said Babaylan.

Meanwhile, the Information Technology and Media Services maintains the overall system structures and features of the app.

What's new

Aside from having the current features that The LANCE has on its website, the LANCE Mobile will now have up-to-date stories. News reports will now be in the form of an Instagram story. The articles that the LANCE have written will then be coded and transformed into stories titled "Ganaps." Through this, students need not scroll down as the feature only requires them to tap and look.

What now

With its release next school year, The LANCE outgoing Editor-in-Chief Nathaniel Mariano hopes that they can engage students more to be in the know in the community that they live in.

"Of course, this is a better platform to connect with our readers, the Letranites. Syempre, we are expecting to have a great number of following on our social media accounts with this app lalong-lalo na na sobrang powerful ng digital journalism ngayon. I just hope this will be effective in touching the Letran community's conscience on the issues that they are involved in," ended Mariano.

The LANCE Mobile will be available both on Android and Apple users. First 100 people to install the said app will receive P500 worth of gift cheques.
