Wangs @ 27- Strikers Letran faltered against their collegiate archrival, Marinerong Pilipino in the second match of their semi final duel in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup, eking out a 51-74 tally yesterday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

None from the Knights have scored double digits as Kyle Tolentino churned out nine markers on top of three rebounds while getting ample help from Kurt Reyson and Kobe Monje who tallied eight points apiece.

San Beda continued to showcase their relentless winning prowess against the already fazed Letran squad coming forth to the final quarter.

With Letran trailing behind with eight, 17-9 in the first window, Pao Javillonar was charged with a flagrant foul.

A trey from Jacob Cortez extended Marinero’s lead to 18, with the Knights having woes on scoring inside the paint 43-61 in the fourth frame with six minutes remaining on the clock.

Peter Alfaro paced San Beda with 20 points, five boards and four assists, followed by James Payosing who contributed 12.

The do-or-die match between the NCAA archrivals will take place on June 15 at Ynares Arena in Pasig City.
