Colegio de San Juan de Letran’s LED TEACH spearheads the launching of the Google Educators Group (GEG) – Intramuros at the SC Auditorium on Monday, March 20, 2023, with a theme of Innovation in Education.

GEG Philippines is a group of independent communities of educators that aim to empower learn, share, and inspire educators, students, and non-teaching personnel.

Letran is the first school in Intramuros to receive a Google Certified Educators Level 1. Faculty members started training in 2019 and as of 2022, 70% of Letran employees are certified Google Educators Levels 1 and 2.

The event consists of demonstrations of the Google Workspace Tools, such as Google Chat, Google search, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Classroom, and Google Calendar, with each tool having a speaker to show the features of the applications and how to maximize them.

The program also highlights the launching of “Let’s Flex Hyflex Online Resource Hub”, which is a site containing tutorials for the Google Workspace applications, a list of Google Certified Letran Educators, and available Certification Programs that the Colegio offers.

Vice President of Academic Affairs Assoc. Prof. Cristina Cabral, Ph.D. states during her closing remarks Letran will offer its services and training for free to different institutions.

“So, today is very important. The launch of GEG – Intramuros is important because we become living witnesses of a learning organization,” the VPAA says.

Letran President and Rector Rev. Fr. Clarence Victor C. Marquez, OP states in an interview with The LANCE that being the first in Intramuros to receive certification is an accomplishment for the Colegio. He says it is also about sharing the accomplishment with other schools in and outside Intramuros.
