Despite numerous reports that Colegio de San Juan de Letran young star Andy Gemao is getting offers from other leagues, the 16-year-old cager announced that he is still committed to play for the Squires - at least until next season.

Gemao, who is also the Finals MVP of the series, averaged 17.5 points in the championship round alongside 9.5 boards and 3.5 assists.

Asked about the reason why he chose to stay in Letran, the member of the Season 98 mythical five stated that he wants to capitalize on the opportunity for the Squires to dominate NCAA Juniors’ Basketball.

“Siguro po dahil dominating pa din po kami. Mag-stay kami sa winning culture ng Letran. Yung na start ng mga kuya namin, pagpapatuloy pa din namin. Yung pagdodominate ng Letran sa NCAA juniors, ipagpapatuloy pa po namin,” the guard said.

The Squires finished the elimination round with an 8-1 slate, number one in the league, before going to the Final Four where they escaped the Mapua Red Robins and eventually stepped foot into the finals scene where they left the Greenies winless.

The 6-foot-1 Gemao also previously made waves as he played for Gilas Pilipinas U16 last year and showed his prowess as one of the best high school players in the country.
