Rector and President of Letran-Manila, Rev. Fr. Clarence Marquez, OP, spearheads "Relacion 2017 – 2022" at the SC Auditorium on Friday afternoon, January 13, 2023, with the junior and senior high school students, Letran personnel and staff, and representatives from the collegiate student organizations attending the event.

Fr. Marquez reports the entirety of El Viaje de Letran, which is the strategic plan of the Colegio from 2017 to 2022. He states our faith paved the way for continuity, survival, sustainability, and reinvention despite the pandemic.

Rev. Fr. Marquez says that the institution has four key accomplishments, which are academics, research, spirituality and community service, and resource management.

He highlights Colegio’s consistent above-national passing rates for the licensure examinations in Psychology, Education, Nutrition and Dietetics, Civil Engineering, and Electronics Communication Engineering. He also mentions the transition to Let’s Flex Hyflex, the conversion of classrooms to cater to the Hyflex modality, and the PAASCU Accreditation.

Fr. Marquez states the contributions of the faculty members to international journals. He also enumerates the partnerships of the Colegio with different institutions to further advance research.

He also says spirituality is the core of the academic institution. All spiritual programs were implemented, which received positive feedback. He then highlights the Tulong Letranista outreach activities, which the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recognized in 2022.

The Rector discusses the resource management of the Colegio, where the institution and its faculty received positive ratings. He also states the increase in enrollees.

“Grasya ito na ating kinikilala at pinagpapasalamat. Kung hindi man tayo ang first choice, pagsisikapan nating maging best choice ng ating mag-aaral,” he says.

According to Fr. Marquez, the future directions of the Colegio will focus on the recognition of the academic quality of the institution. The institution aims for institutional accreditation from the PAASCU, autonomous Higher Education Institution (HEI), ISO certification, local and international partnerships for every academic program, and boosting other sporting events.

He also states that  the Colegio has plans to continue to upgrade classrooms and laboratories to cater to the Hyflex modality, the transition from Google Certified Educator to Google Trainer and Innovators, and raise funding for research.

Fr. Marqueze says the 2017-2022 institutional strategic plan suffered due to the pandemic.

“Looking forward and looking further, in the next planning cycle, the pilgrimage of Letran shall draw from this wellspring,” he says.
