Manila Mayor Dr. Honey Lacuna spearheaded the PinasLakas Campaign in SM Manila on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, to encourage individuals to get their booster shots.

Mayor Lacuna and Department of Health (DOH) Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire vaccinated several people, which included President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and his son, Ilocos Norte First District Representative Ferdinand Alexander "Sandro" Marcos.

President Marcos continues to encourage the public to get their booster shots in preparation for the opening of classes on Monday, August 22, 2022.

The PinasLakas Campaign was launched by the Department of Health (DOH) on August 4, 2022, in Antique. It aims to increase the booster rate of the country to combat COVID-19 and reach herd immunity.

The City of Manila has inoculated 627,857 individuals for their first booster shot and 66,864 individuals for their second booster shot for both citizens and non-citizens of Manila.

The city is also still accepting walk-ins for vaccination and boosters for all, provided they registered through the website - http://manilacovid19vaccine.ph.
