THE NEWLY Recognized Student Organization, Association of Visual Arts (AVA) in Letran to inspire students to explore their creative side in traditional and digital works through arts.

In a personal interview with The LANCE, the Digital Arts Student and President of AVA, Adrian Aguilar, said that the organization set their sight in fostering talents of those who are willing to share and explore their expertise in creating a twist in artworks.

“Our goal for this year is ma-recognize na ang Letranites are great in artworks too. Gusto naming i-showcase ‘yong mga gawa ng Letranites na may pagmamahal sa art,” he told The LANCE.

According to Aguilar, the organization seeks to gather students with the same interest and great passion in order to genuinely grow as a team.

“Goal din namin na matuto ang mga interesadong Letranista na gumuhit or mag-paint. Kahit digital artworks. Gagawin nating makulay lalo ang Letran,” he said.

He also shared how they were encouraged to establish the visual arts organization.

“Noong nagkaroon kami ng Freehand drawing ay lahat kami naging interested sa arts, lalo na ‘yong ilan sa amin ay talagang magaling na sa ganitong art,” he explained.

However, Aguilar admitted that the struggles that they might encounter cannot be denied as they are just starting to learn their team dynamics.

On top of that, they also doubted their recognition before the submission of their application in which he admitted, “Noong una, nag-alangan kami kasi we might not be recognized. I mean, bago pa kasi lahat.”

He also furthered: “We confirmed na approved na ang AVA noong inanunsyo ni Ms. Jillian Garcia noong RSO Orientation last July 29, 2019.”

When asked about how the organization will perform their goals, he said, “Naniniwala ako na we can establish good working relationships. We can discuss our expectations and set our goals para maging prepared.”

Moreover, Aguilar encouraged the Letranites to unleash their artistic skills and creative side through joining their organization.

“To our Letranites, it’s time to showcase your talents in visual arts. To those who want and willing to learn, explore and share their talents to the Letran Community, join na kayo sa AVA as we have a lot in store for you,” Aguilar proudly expressed.
