On the darkest hours during inevitable setbacks, our school spirits during NCAA games may be carried away easily without the hype of the banging of the drums and the echoes of majestic trumpets. Yet we still hear the familiar chants and beats in unison that make our doubtful hearts flutter with joy and undying hope.

Merging of teams in Letramurals: Good move or not?

From the original ten-team format, this year’s Letramurals will only see six teams competing in the annual sporting event. The Office of Student Welfare and Development (OSWD) revealed that the teams will be merged according to their respective colleges and departments.

Letran’s Aqua Knights ended the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 93 swimming competition with another subpar campaign. The team placed only sixth in the overall ranking during the five-day competition from September 6 to 10 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium swimming center.

The Letran Knights failed to earn semifinals berth after losing to a Michael Calisaan-led San Sebastian team in the 93rd NCAA basketball competition. But head coach Jeff Napa was quick to shrug off the loss as he turns his focus on his prized recruits who are suiting up in Season 94.

Rey Nambatac, Letran, and a storied NCAA career

The first time I met Rey Nambatac was in 2014. I was a freshman in college and he was entering his second year in the NCAA. I was in the Letran gym, sitting in one of the bleachers, pumped and excited as I listen to the gleeful banging of drums of the band at the rafters. It was Letran’s Pep Rally.
