The Colegio’s Information Technology students showed excellence in their field as 10 of them passed the Microsoft Certified Professionals’ examination.
Jett Michael Marcella, Nhyll Bryant Molina, and Sheryl Borlado Sembrano passed the examination for Programming in C# while Bill Kloyd Mesina, Chardonay Ollero, Trisha Marie Orocio, Romella Izabel Pascual, Raymond Santos, Julian Lewis Torres, and Carla Maria Villamor also passed the examination in Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012.
The Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCP) offers certifications for diverse areas of technical expertise in the world of information technology. This certification is only given to those who passed the exam spearheaded by an annex company of Microsoft here in the Philippines. By being certified, one can hold the fact that they have expertise in a specific technical area that MCP offers.
Chairperson of the Institute of Information Technology Assoc. Prof. Cristina D. de los Santos was the one who handled the progression. She said that they held a series of review sessions where they invited IT experts to be the reviewers.
Microsoft experts, Mr. Christopher Seno, Mr. Calvin de los Santos, together with Letran’s previous IT faculty members, Ms. Ronina Tayuan, conducted a three series of review sessions for two different tracks.
A total of 37 examinees applied for the Programming in C# and a total of 32 examinees took examinations for Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012.
The said examination was held last May 2, 3 and June 19 and 20, 2017 at the NTT Data in Makati City.
Back in 2003, Colegio de San Juan de Letran was the first school in the country to partner with Microsoft for the Microsoft IT Academy Program. It was first introduced by the former chairperson of the Institute of Information Technology, Asst. Prof. Randy Castillo.
