Ang mga Tinig mula sa Panitikang Pilipino

Sa mundo ng nobelang Pilipino, malimit ay tumatayo ito bilang salamin sa ating kasaysayan. Matatandaang libro ng isang Gat Jose Rizal ang nagsilbing dagitab sa isang rebolusyon. Hindi maikakaila ang kahalagahan ng aklat.

Mga libro’t nobela ang siyang liligtas sa ating kasaysayan mula sa pagkalimot. Ang mga libro ay malaking bahagi sa ating buhay, lalo na’t ito ay nagbibigay ng mahalagang aral at kaalaman natin. Bukod dito, ang pagbabasa ay nagbibigay gabay, aral, o kahit ano man ang gustong maipatid ng may akda para sa kanyang mambabasa.

Ang mga sumusunod ay mga linya mula sa piling aklat na naglalahad ng iba’t ibang mukha ng Pilipino, mula sa kwento ng dumi at alikabok ng lansangang Maynila, maging sa mga madugong laban para sa tunay na kasarinlan mula sa mga Kastila. Pinapatunayan dito na ang pagsusulat ng mga Pilipinon ay nagiging boses na kinakailangan ng bansa.

DEKADA ’70 ni Lualhati Bautista: “Ang payapang pampang ay para lang sa mga pangahas na sasalungat sa alimpuyo ng mga alon sa panahon ng unos.”

Isa sa mga pinakasikat na akda ni Lualhati Bautista ay ang Dekada ’70, pumapatungkol sa isang nanay na humaharap sa mga iba’t ibang sitwasyon kasama ang kanyang pamilya sa panahon ng Martial Law noong 1970. Dito, naipakita ni Lualhati Bautista ang malagim na katotohonan sa ilalim ng rehimen ng diktador na si Ferdinand Marcos. Tumatayo ang aklat bilang isang epektibong halimbawa para ipahiwatig sa mga tao ang mga kaganapan noong panahon ng martial law.

MACARTHUR ni Bobong: “Dalawang dekada ka lang mag-aaral. Kung di mo pagtitiyagaan, anak, limang dekada ng kahirapan ang kapalit. Sobrang lugi. Kung alam lang iyon ng mga kabataan, sa pananaw ko e walang gugustuhing umiwas sa eskwela.” 

Sa dami ng isinulat na sikat na manunulat na si Bob Ong, ang Macarthur ay isang libro na nagtatalakay sa mga kabataan na humaharap sa mga problema ng ating bansa katulad ng droga, edukasyon, pagpapamilya, at iba pa. Itong libro na ito ay nakatatak sa mga mambabasa dahil sa pagiging totoo ng mga sinasabi tungkol sa bansa natin. Hindi parin dito nawawala ang istilo ni Bob Ong na mayroong katatawanan na nagbibigay ng palatandaan sa sikat nitong awtor.

MGA IBONG MANDARAGIT ni Amado V. Fernandez: “Naryan ang kaibhan ng armas sa isang ideya. Ang sandata'y nakagigiba't pumapatay lamang; ang ideya'y nakagigiba't nakabubuo, pumapatay at bumubuhay.”

Bilang isang aktibista’t manunulat, naisulat ni Amado V. Fernandez ang librong ito hango sa kanyang mga pagsubok bilang isang intelligence officer ng mga gerilya noong 1942 hanggang 1945 sa ilalim ng pag-okupa ng mga Hapon.

NOLI MI TANGERE ni Jose Rizal:  "Mamamatay akong hindi nakikita ang ningning ng bukang-liwayway sa aking Bayan! Kayong makakakita, salubungin ninyo siya, at huwag kalilimutan ang mga nabulid sa dilim ng gabi." 

Bilang mandato na basahin at aralin ang mga nobela ni Dr. Jose Rizal sa mga paaralan, imposibleng walang estudyanteng makakaalam nito. Ang Noli Me Tangere ay isinulat ni Rizal sa layuning ipakita ang pang-aapi at abuso sa ilalim ng okupasyon ng mga Kastila.

EL FILIBUSTERISMO ni Jose Rizal: “Nalilimot ng bawat isa sa inyo na habang napag-iingatan ang isang bayan ang kaniyang wika, napag-iingatan din nito ang katibayan ng kaniyang paglaya, katulad ng pagpapanatili ng isang tao sa kaniyang kasarinlan, upang mapanatili niya ang kaniyang sariling paraan ng pag-iisip. Ang wika ang pag-iisip ng bayan.”

Umikot sa kadiliman ng laban para sa kalayaan ang El Filibusterismo. Tumayo ang nobela bilang sagisag sa ating mga Pilipino, para tumindig sa ating mga paa at lumaban, maski sino pa ang hinaharap.

Ipinadampot ang awtor dahil di-umano’y ‘subersibo’ ang mga tema ng aklat, at itinapon sa Dapitan sa Mindanao. Sa hatol ng kamatayan, binaril si Rizal sa Bagumbayan noong 1896.
Gayunpaman, patuloy na nabububuhay ang diwa ng kanyang mga akda.
