A survey conducted by Social Weather Stations (SWS) displays a decline in public satisfaction with the Congress, Supreme Court, and President in the last quarter of 2024, its lowest since the inauguration of Marcos administration.
The survey conducted from Dec. 12 to 18 revealed that 62 percent of Filipinos were satisfied with the performance of the Senate, lower than the previous 66 percent rating of the third quarter last year.
Dissatisfaction increased from 17 percent to 18 percent, while the margin for undecided respondents increased from 15 percent to 17 percent.
The House of Representatives received a 58 percent satisfaction rating, down from 60 percent in the previous quarter.
Dissatisfied respondents remained at 18 percent, while those undecided rose from 19 percent to 22 percent.
The survey indicated that the Senate had a net satisfaction from +49, down to +44, while the House posted a net satisfaction rating of +36, decreased from +42.
According to SWS, net satisfactions ranging from +30 to +49 are distinguished as good.
Despite the national net satisfaction declining, regional analysis substantiates that the masses consistently display approval of the Senate, with Visayas having the highest net satisfaction at +50 points, followed by Mindanao and Balance Luzon having +44 points each, and Metro Manila at +34 points.
For the House, Balance Luzon reported a +42 rating, the Visayas at +40, and both Metro Manila and Mindanao at +27 points.
Based on the data from previous surveys, it was the Congress’ lowest satisfaction rating in the current administration.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court also experienced a slight decline, from 61 percent in September 2024, down to 58 percent, while the dissatisfied respondents declined from 19 percent down to 18 percent, and the undecided rose to 20 percent from 18 percent.
However, it received a favorable rating across the regions, led by the Visayas Region at +42 points, trailed behind by Mindanao at +41 points, followed by Balance Luzon at +40 points, then Metro Manila at +39 points.
The results revealed the Supreme Court with a net satisfaction rating of +40 points, down from +42 points in the previous quarter, its lowest satisfaction rating from Marcos’ term.
Additionally, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s net satisfaction rating plunged down by 13 points during the last quarter of 2024, from +32 to 19, classified by the SWS as “moderate.”
The survey revealed that 51 percent of respondents displayed satisfaction, while 32 percent were dissatisfied, and 16 percent were undecided.
The SWS fourth quarter survey involved face-to-face interviews with 2,160 adults nationwide and has a margin of error of two percent.
