In a season filled with historic runs and podium finishes, Letran’s Vince Himzon, Gia Maquilang, and Lara Mae Silva took home individual awards after impressive performances through the NCAA Season 99 Volleyball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Coming off of his Rookie of the Year in Season 98 and MVP campaign in the Spikers’ Turf during the pre-season, Himzon continued his stellar play as he received his second consecutive Best Middle Blocker nod after steering the Knights to a 6-3 record and eventual bronze medal finish.

Over on the women’s side, Maquilang was recognized as the Freshman of the Year while the Lady Knights defensive anchor, Silva, bagged the Best Libero award after they helped the squad to end its 12-year finals drought, netting the first-runner up after clashing with the Lady Blazers.

College of Saint Benilde’s Cloanne Mondonedo and University of Perpetual Help System Dalta’s Louie Ramirez reigned as the Season MVPs for their respective conferences as they assisted their teams in recording unblemished records and championships.

With the tournament coming to a close, both of Letran’s volleyball teams will seek to further build upon the foundation of its volleyball program heading into Season 100.
