SNL Letran continues their Spikers’ Turf campaign as they carved out a defining 26-24,25-19, 25-21 victory against City of Cabuyao Cabstars in the quarterfinals of the league yesterday at Paco Arena in Manila.

Derrick Bautista shone as he scattered a double-double performance of 15 excellent receptions and 13 attacks, laced with eight digs and a block.

Steven Sta. Maria also amassed 14 points while Vince Himzon, who suffered an ankle sprain in the second frame, logged 13 markers.

Former Knights Michael Doria and Drei Tongio faced their past teammates in Letran as they played for the club team Cabuyao in the league.

The same story transpired in the third set as Letran took the advantage on the first parts of the frame with the Cabstars trying to close out but Letran ultimately scored clutch markers in the latter part.

Bucking off his back-to-back errors at the start of the match, Himzon scored nine in the first set alone to lift Letran past the struggling Cabstars.

But the Cabstars proved that they are not down against the much younger team as they cut a six-point deficit to claim a 23-all deadlock in the opening set, but an outside attack from Cabstars' Saori Soriano gave Letran their first set victory.

After Vince Himzon suffered his injury, that did not stop SNL Letran from punching points from different areas in the taraflex court over City of Cabuyao which tried to come close in the end of the second set, 25-19.

Doria delivered 10 points for the Cabstars while Soriano backed him up with nine.
