Calvo leads Letran in lopsided victory against JRU

After suffering a tough loss last Tuesday, the Letran Knights were able to bounce back as they annihilate the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers, 94-71, in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup powered by Chooks-to-Go at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.

JP Calvo led the Knights’ attack with 18 points and seven assists. Bong Quinto notched 17 markers while Jerrick Balanzaand Edison Batiller added 11 and 10 respectively for the Knights who booked their third win in the tournament.

Knights head coach Jeff Napa lauded his wards after the lopsided win. 

“We performed better, ‘yung effort nandoon, ‘yung discipline andoon, ‘yung aggressiveness nandoon. For a coach, wala kanang hihilingin sa mga bata, binigay na nila ‘yung best nila eh,” he bared.

The Knights will go up against the San Sebastian College-Recoletos Stags on Monday, at 4:30 p.m.
