Behind Kobe Monje’s 29-point performance, Letran Knights toppled Pilipinas Aguilas in a 111-76 victory in the AsiaBasket Las Pinas Championship earlier today at Villar Coliseum in Las Piñas City.
The Rensy Bajar-led team remain on top of the Pool B of the league with a clean 2-0 slate alongside FEU Tamaraws.
Backing Monje was Kyle Tolentino who amassed 21 markers with four assists and two caroms.
Kevin Santos and Neil Guarino also uncorked 11 points apiece.
It was raining threes for the Knights as both Kobe Monje and Kyle Tolentino scored their first points of the game with an array of treys.
The Intramuros-based squad asserted control early on the bout as they went on a 12-3 run. They finished off the canto with an 11-point lead, 27-16.
Biboy Enguio's 11 points in the first half was not enough for the Aguilas as the NCAA Champions reinforced their lead to 21 points at the end of the half, 60-39.
Letran stipulated their high-octane offense to take off early and never looked back as they held the cushion for as much as 42 points.
Ramirez led his team with 16 points on top of four steals, three rebounds and two assists, while skipper Enguio contributed 14.
Letran will try to keep their slate unblemished as they face Sanzar Pharmaceuticals on July 24, 3pm.
