Marinero- San Beda were too hot for Wangs-Letran as the Knights suffered a 65-79 loss in the 2023 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup quarterfinals earlier today at Ynares Arena in Pasig City.

With this loss, the Knights have let go of their chance to book a seat in the finals series of the preseason league.

Conformable playmaker Kurt Reyson dished out 19 markers on top of four boards and four assists while Deo Cuajao and Neil Guarino added 13 and 10, respectively.

Early on in the match, the Mendiola-located team held the driver’s seat with a 10-0 advantage over the Knights.

San Beda continued to catch fire in the second half as they took control of the match with a commanding 17-point cushion, 53-36 through the combined efforts of Jomel Puno and James Payosing.

Guarino and Reyson tried to bring some life to the already struggling Knights but the Red Lions were just too much for the Intramuros-based team who are visibly fatigue-stricken as they have played two matches today.

Payosing topscored with 23 points, nine rebounds and three assists while being backed up by Damie Cuntapay who churned out 11.
