Lady Knights Defy Adversity to Win Against Lady Chiefs; Men Split 4-5 Spread their Exit for this Season

Women's division 

The Letran Lady Knights edged the Arellano Lady Chiefs, hacking out a 21-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-20, 15-10 victory in the NCAA Season 98 eliminations round last Saturday at San Andres Sports Complex in Manila. 

The Lady Knights ignited the fire by extending the match but it still was not enough as they bow out of the final four contention. 

Three players led the game namely Cha Cuñada, Judel Nitura, and Lea Tapang chalk up with 15 points they managed to pave the way with 5-4 this season. 

Cuñada's effort led her to have an excellent defense with 21 outstanding digs and eight admirable receptions. With a crosscourt kill from Nitura made the way for Letran to catch the win for this game.

Letran Head Coach Mike Inferio stated that this victory is a gift for his coaching tenure as they strive for next season. 

With Arellano Chiefs Padillion and Laika Pablo's shower the game ended with 15 points for the Lady Chiefs. 

 

Men's division 

Arellano university put an end to Colegio San Juan De Letran from the intense game for the Final four. The Chiefs successfully secured the twice-to-beat advantage for the upcoming game. 

Last Saturday, the players continued to sweep the NCAA season 98 men's volleyball tournament, winning 25-15, 25-18, and 25-22. 

It was a rollercoaster of a game, but the teams managed to keep up with the tempo, but the Arellano chiefs' chances of victory remained. 

Justin Alejandro led the Knights with 10 points followed by Vince Himzon who scored 9 points together with Angel Canzana who strived for the game.  

Carl Berdal led the way for Arellano with 17 points, 14 attacks, two blocks, and an ace.

Letran, on the other hand, bid adieu to the season.
