Men’s Division

Colegio de San Juan de Letran dominated Lyceum of the Philippines University as they had done a thrilling game that ended up in a three-set clean sweep of 25-17, 25-19, 25-17, during the NCAA Season 98 Men's Volleyball Tournament earlier today at the San Andres Sports Complex.

Vince Himzon started with a powerful spike that set the tone for the Knjghts which helped them dominate the court and set the tone for the rest of the game.

Letran went on to win and dominate the rest of the sets as they looked to bounce back from a two-game losing streak which badly affected their final-four hopes. But the Pirates closed in on the Knights, 14-17 as they tried to get their first win of the season.

But Letran went on a 8-3 scoring run that was ended by a service error committed by LPU, which gave the Knights a point that ended the set, 25-17.

Drei Tongio paced the now 4-4 Letran with three points and 23 excellent sets, while Justine Alejandro and Vince Himzon scored 14 and 12, respectively.

Women’s Division

The Letran Lady Knights were conquered by the LPU Lady Pirates after a three-set clean sweep of 25-15, 25-20, 25-17.

Starters were full of apprehension, wherein both teams committed errors, which made the game into a gloomy state until the Lady Pirates' Joan Doguna set the first score.

On the other hand, Angelique Ledesma gained a point for the Lady Knights as she executed a smooth but powerful spike against the wall of the Lyceum.

Along with Cha Cuñada, Natalie Estreller, and Judiel Nitura, Letran gained scores to bring the ladies into the game.

Despite the circumstances given, the Lady Pirates' Janeth Tulang and Johna Dolorito reciprocated the Lady Knights' actions. With Jewel Maligmat on their side, that allotted three service aces.

A service error by Letran easily gave the point to Lyceum which ended the first set, 25-15. This set the tone for the rest of the game as the Lady Knights failed to pick up themselves, eventually suffering a sweep from the Lady Pirates.

Cuñada and Nitura led the 4-4 squad with six points each.
