As the NCAA Season 98 Volleyball Tournament commences on Saturday, the men’s and women’s volleyball teams of Colegio de San Juan de Letran are gearing up to reign supreme in their respective leagues.
Michael Doria, the captain of the men’s volleyball team said that they are currently improving their team communication inside and outside the court, “We will also focus on our net and floor defense because it will be a big part in our every game to claim the victory,” the skipper added.
They will also be introducing their rookies, namely Nam Caballero, Vince Himzon, Raxel Catris, Justine Alejandro, Edwin Omega, and Chister Lou Ambrocio.
Veterans Marco Molacruz, Andrei Tongio, Jhomar Real, Byron Nicholas are also expected to spearhead the Knights in sealing the victory for the Muralla-based squad.
On the other hand, the household names will also spark light for the Lady Knights namely team skipper Shereena Urmeneta, Chamberlaine Cuñada, Daisy Melendres and Lara Silva.
The neophytes for the Lady Knights are also aligned to make their NCAA debut with Judiel Nitura, Trisha Dequilla and Keiara Almirante.
The teams are seeking support from the Letran community as they play their first matches, respectively, against archrivals San Beda University on Sunday, February 19, at 9:00 AM at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila. The games will also be broadcasted live on GMA Sports PH and NCAA Philippines’ Facebook pages.
