Letran Falters Against JRU, Will Face LPU in Semis

The Letran Knights suffered an 87-71 loss against the JRU Heavy Bombers during their last elimination game in the NCAA Season 98 Men's basketball tournament on Wednesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

Letran failed to secure the top seed due to a huge 22-point game from Ry Dela Rosa, while Marvin Dionisio added 16 of his own. JRU also managed to share the ball more, out assisting Letran, 22-12.

King Caralipio top-scored for the Knights with 15 points and 9 boards followed by Brent Paraiso's 12 and Fran Yu's 10. 

The Knights struggled to put up points on the board but were able to trim the lead to as close as 6, 75-69 late in the fourth.

They failed to capitalize on this, however, as Dela Rosa and Dionisio continued their scoring onslaught.

The Knights, still with a twice-to-beat advantage, will be facing the LPU Pirates in this season's semifinals. 

Letran drops to 13-5, second to Benilde's 14-4 at the end of the 2nd round.
