THE COLEGIO received recognition from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) with the Gawad Maparaan award for its successful and innovative practices in conducting environmental activities amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Director of Community Extension Department (CED) Asst. Prof. Leo Bernadas, MBA, received the award on behalf of the Colegio last December 15, 2020, at the Social Hall of the DENR Central Office.

The award hailed the institution's participation in environmental activities despite the pandemic.

This 2020, CED also organized various programs such as Tulong Letranista, a long-running donation drive project of the department and servant leadership webinars to strengthen mental health, socials skills, spirituality, and leadership skills through Volunteerism.

The recognition is also part of DENR's annual celebration of National Volunteer Month. The event commemorates institutions that conducted environmental activities and special awards are given to institutions and organizations with exemplary performance.

Gawad Maparaan is a special award given to institutions who impacted, conserved, and managed the environment and natural resources even during the global crisis.

Five sets of notable awards, including Gawad Maparaan, were awarded. 42 volunteers were also acknowledged by the government agency for their support of the agency's plans and programs.
