Letran wasted Kurt Reyson’s career game after losing to Lyceum, 90-97 in the NCAA Season 95, Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Reyson tallied a career-best 20 points alongside two rebounds and two steals for the Knights but that went for naught as they dropped back to third place with a 9-5 record.

The Knights last tied the game at 75 following a Pao Javillonar basket with 7:07 left, but the Pirates flipped the switch behind Jaycee Marcelino, responding with an 8-2 spurt to take an 83-77 lead.

Larry Muyang was able to cut down the lead to three, 85-88 with 2:03 left, but Reymar Caduyac and Jaycee Marcelino nailed the telling baskets in the end as the Pirates held on even after losing an early 15 point lead.

Muyang added 16 points and four rebounds for the Knights as Ato Ular chipped in 14 points, six rebounds and two blocks in the loss.

Turnovers turned out to be the Knights' bane as they threw the ball away 21 times, translating to 25 points for the second-running Pirates.

Jaycee Marcelino paced the Pirates with 25 points as Caduyac added 20.

The Letran Knights will next battle against San Beda Red Lions on Tuesday, October 1 at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
