The Letran Knights avenged their first round loss against San Sebastian, after cruising to a 99-82 win, moving to third in the NCAA Season 95 Men’s Basketball Tourney, Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Larry Muyang led the Knights’ balanced attacked with 15 points and seven rebounds. Bonbon Batillier backstopped him with 15 points and four rebounds while Fran Yu and Jerrick Balanza both chipped in 12 points.

Balanza did most of the damage in Letran’s back-breaking 14-2 run, giving the much needed separation in the fourth.

Ramil Tero saved the Stags from an embarassing 20-point lead loss after delivering a trey in the last 20 seconds of the game.

“Katulad nung sinabi ko nung masakit talo yung namin yung overtime [sa Mapua].Tapos yung talo namin sa kanila [San Sebastian] nung first round,” said head coach Bonnie Tan after upping their 8-4 win-loss card.

“Yun yung motivation factor namin. Coming from a bad loss, walang ibang iispin kundi play good and hard defense,” he added.
